'Star
Trek Into Darkness' Villain is Still a Mystery in Official Synopsis
For those fans who
were hoping that an official synopsis might finally reveal what villain Benedict Cumberbatch might play
in the anticipated 2013 sequel Star
Trek Into Darkness, the people at Bad Robot and Paramount Pictures
are still playing their cards close to the Starfleet emblem on their chest. The
official synopsis for the sequel to J.J. Abrams' 2009 sci-fi franchise reboot has finally been
revealed, and while it gives us a clear plot, and might even give a little too
much away, there's still plenty of mystery surrounding the villain, who remains
unnamed despite being described as quite the terrorist. Read more here.
Rumor: Joseph Gordon-Levitt Set to Play Batman in 'Justice League'
Now before we move any further, everyone should know that massive spoilers for The Dark Knight Rises follow. Having said that, with the end of Christopher Nolan's trilogy in our past (it arrives on Blu-Ray and DVD on December 4th), fans have been wondering how Warner Bros. will handle rebooting Batman in order to fit the Caped Crusader into their 2015 release of Justice League. With time running short, there's definitely not enough time to do another Batman movie before Justice Leaguewould have to start shooting. However, it sounds like Batman might already be cast in the form ofJoseph Gordon-Levitt. Read more here.
Ever since we heard
that Warner Bros. was getting serious about putting together a Justice Leaguemovie after the
success of The Avengers (including hiring Gangster
Squad writer Will Beall to take a first run at the script and
hoping for a release in 2015), fans have been wondering
if next summer'sMan of Steel would
be the first film to help set the stage for the DC Comics superhero ensemble.
After all, Iron Man kicked off the long journey to The Avengers, so
it would only make sense to have this new franchise start the fire. And now
director Zack Snyder seems
to vaguely confirm something along those lines. Click here to read more.
Fox
Searchlight Developing Biopic on Singing Sensation Susan Boyle
Thankfully, most
reality TV stars stay confined to the small screen where their fame dwindles
over time. However, some of those who end up crafting a longer career deserve
more exposure and attention because of some real talent. Such is sometimes the
case with contestants on competition programs like "American Idol" or
"Britain's Got Talent" (the precursor to the American copycat).
That's exactly what happened to Scottish woman Susan Boyle, who became famous pretty much overnight after
performing a stunning rendition of the trademark Les Misérables tune I
Dreamed a Dream, and now a biopic on Boyle is coming. Read more here.
