Video Clip: Crazy Stupid Love
Will Smith
Eyes Lead Roles in 'American Can' and 'The Accountant'
Just
after entering negotiations to
star in Focus, a romantic heist
thriller from John Requa and Glenn Ficarra (now without Kristen Stewart), the
duo behind Crazy Stupid Love, superstar Will
Smith is also
looking at two more projects for his future slate. Deadline has word that Smith
is currently reviving a project he's been trying to develop for years called American Can in which he would star for The
Last Samurai director Ed
Zwick. In addition Smith is also considering The
Accountant, another project he once flirted with in the past
when it was a Warner Bros. production with Mel Gibson attached to direct. Read more.
Channing Tatum
and Joseph Gordon-Levitt Wanted for 'Guys & Dolls'
After
Seth MacFarlane reached back into the history of movie musicals for the Academy
Awards earlier this year, one of the classics is getting a remake at 20th
Century Fox. Deadline has word that the studio has landed the rights to remake Guys
& Dolls, the movie musical from 1955 based on the 1950
Pulitzer Prize winning stage play with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and a
book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. But the real big news is that they're
looking at getting Magic Mike star Channing Tatumand Looper star Joseph Gordon-Levitt for the roles originated by legends
Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando. Read more.
Jim Caviezel
& Michael Chiklis Unite for an Underdog Sports Drama
While
many haven't really seen much of Jim Caviezel since his controversial and highly
publicized turn as Jesus Christ in The Passion of the Christ, the
guy has been busy with the increasingly great spy thriller series "Person
of Interest" on CBS, getting ready to finish its second season. Now it
sounds like he's getting ready to take on a role that seems to be a rite of
passage for many actors. THR has word that Caviezel will star in When
the Game Stands Tall, an underdog football drama set up at
Mandalay and Sony Pictures. Michael Chiklis will also star in the film which will
begin shooting tomorrow in New Orleans.

Emma Stone
Signed to Lead Woody Allen's Next Film Set in Spain
Audiences
will see Woody Allen's most recent
film Blue Jasmine, starring Cate Blanchett, Alec
Baldwin, Louis C.K. and many more, later this summer, but the director is
unsurprisingly already prepping his next project. As with any of the director's
projects that happen every single year, the title, plot and pretty much
everything is being kept under tight wraps, but Deadline has learned thatEmma Stone has landed the lead female role in the
film that has been said to shoot in Spain and South of France this summer. This
is just one more promising project for the lovely actress' very busy future
slate over the next couple years. Read on.
Anna Kendrick
& Gemma Arterton Hear 'Voices' with Ryan Reynolds
After
lending his voice to The Croods (which is now getting a sequel) and
this summer's Turbo (watch the trailer), it sounds like
actor Ryan Reynolds is getting ready to hear voices this time. Just last fall,
we learned the actor who dabbles in both action and comedy was taking the lead
role in The Voices, a dark but
somewhat comedic psychological thriller from Persepolis director Marjane Satrapi. The story
involving murder and a talking dog and cat has just gained two female co-stars
as Deadline reports Anna
Kendrick (Pitch Perfect) and Gemma
Arterton (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters)
have joined the strange project. Read more.
Shia LaBeouf
to Feel 'Fury' in David Ayer's World War II Tank Drama
Earlier
this month we learned that Brad
Pitt would return to World War II in
a film called Fury, a drama from End
of Watch director
David Ayer that follows five crew members of an American Sherman tank called
Fury as they head into battle during the final days of the war in 1945 as the
Nazi regime begins to collapse. Now casting is underway to fill out the rest of
the crew and Variety has word that Shia LaBeouf is in talks to join the team. Those
are two pretty big names, so it sounds like this might be quite an impressive
ensemble for a film that Ayer wrote himself and already has a November 14th, 2014 release planned. Read more.
