Les Miserables Love

There are 3 Days until Les Miserables is released in theatres. If you’ve been to my blog before you’ve probably noticed how extremely excited I am. Here are some behind the scenes videos I thought other’s would enjoy seeing.

First: Hugh Jackman is Jean Val Jean.

Second: Shooting the Big Opening Number

Third: Colm Wilkinson

Fourth: Designing Paris

Fifth: Scoring the Music (This would be a dream to be one of these musicians)

12 Days of Christmas-Day 10

The First Nowell (also written The First Noël) is a traditional classical English carol, most likely from the 18th century, although possibly earlier. The wordNoel comes from the French word Noël meaning "Christmas", from the Latin word natalis "birthday".

12 Days of Christmas-Day 9

All I Want For Christmas is You was originally released in 1994. I am a big fan of the Mariah Carey version but I found two others that are equally great.

12 Days of Christma-Day 8

O Holy Night is a well known Christmas Carol composed by Adolphe Adam in 1847 to the French poem "Minuit, chrétiens" (Midnight, Christians) by Placide Cappeau (1808–1877). Cappeau, a wine merchant and poet, had been asked by a parish priest to write a Christmas poem. Unitarian minister John Sullivan Dwight editor of Dwight's Journal of Music, created a singing edition based on Cappeau's French text in 1855. In both the French original and in the two familiar English versions of the carol, the text reflects on the birth of Jesus and of mankind's redemption.

And before you listen to this last one, remember Buddy the Elf: the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.

12 Days of Christmas-Day 7

Today I have 2 songs. They are not what you would call classic Christmas songs. At least not yet. They both have been released in the last few years, and I love them.
The first song, Cold December Night, is sung by Michael Buble.

The second song is Melodies of Christmas by David Archuleta.

12 Days of Christmas-Day 6

I'll Be Home For Christmas" is a  Christmas song recorded in 1943 by Bing Crosby who scored a top ten hit with the song. "I'll Be Home for Christmas" has since gone on to become a Christmas standard
The song is sung from the point of view of an overseas soldier during WWII, writing a letter to his family. In the message, he tells the family that he will be coming home, and to prepare the holiday for him including requests for "snow", "mistletoe", and "presents on the tree". The song ends on a melancholy note, with the soldier saying "I'll be home for Christmas, if only in my dreams."

12 Days of Christmas-Day 5

Today’s Song is Baby It’s Cold Outside.  The music and words were written by Frank Loesser in 1949. There have been so many different recordings so I’ve just picked 2 that I like. Do you have a version that you like?
