Hanukkah

Well Last Week was My Birthday and instead of celebrating for one day, I had a Hannakuh theme going on. 5 days of celebration. Unfortunately I didn't get five days worth of gifts ha ha. I love having a birthday because you get to hear from your family and friends and know that someone is thinking about you.

Wednesday (my actual birthday) I had to work from 9-6. Adult birthdays are so fun. My friend Holly took me out to lunch. I love Zupas. Then I got to spend time with my mom and we went and got sandwiches for dinner. She also bought me two new awesome skirts which was great because I was really thinking I needed new Sunday clothes. Then my roommate actually took me out for ice cream=-) The best part of the day was Tyler singing Happy Birthday to me though. Its the highlight year after year.

Friday my roomates Sarah and Kaisha and my old roomate (also Sarah) took me to dinner and we had a movie night and watched No Reservations. Sarah brought me some treats and Sarah gave me the new KT Tunstall cd.

Saturday my friend Jokke took me to see Thor in 3D. Funny and Goofy but not at all what I was expecting. It was very entertaining and Chris Hemsworth is just so very handsome.
Then I got to have dinner with my Apartment 54 friends from when I lived in Riviera. Admittedly that had nothing to do with my birthday but its still an excuse to have fun and get together. They taught me how to play Bullet (which is like an official version of mafia). Very fun.

Then Monday my parents took us out to eat at Texas Roadhouse. We got home and everyone was sleepy and wanted a nap. I checked my email and was getting ready to video chat with Erin when she and Bianca came up the stairs. My mom was lying on the couch in the next room and asked "How did you call her and get her up so fast? It sounds like she's right there in the room." Ha Ha. She and Karl and the kids surprised us and showed up in Utah 5 days early! I finally got to see Henry and his chubby cheeks.

P.S I know Hanukkah is 8 days long but that just seems excessive for a birthday.
On to the next party. Baby blessing and family coming this weekend!!!

Colorado Lazy

Over the weekend we went to visit my sister Adrienne and her family which consisted of. . .
Encountering snow in the mountains on the drive to Colorado (yes, and its almost June)
Baby Rabbits (So Cute)

CB & Potts for Dinner

NCIS (many many episodes-Dad still won't admit he has a problem, like a 12 step recovery program kind of problem)

U2 Concert (except me because I was babysitting but goodnight kisses and hugs are the best)

Wii with Tristan and Jack (Mario Kart rocks)

Nursery (singing time with 2 18 month old little girls-one of which clapped after all of the songs except one, during which she covered her ears ha ha. I guess we won't be auditioning for American Idol)

Adrienne actually think I didn't know who recorded the original soundtrack of Wicked (hell0!)

Jack coloring his face with markers

Jordan talking about the NBA playoffs and how much he wants the Heat to win and how amazing Michael Jordan is for 4 hours on the way home. Not that I minded. . because I am trying to better myself and because more sports savvy

The best about the trip was that I got a day off of work and my family is coming to Utah to visit in about 10 days.

High Lights

You have to love those little moments that just make your day that much better.

For example-at work it never a dull day when you can get a grown men to throw a temper tantrum when he doesn't get his way.

I also realized I have bad caustic thoughts but I have learned to hold my tongue most of the time. I overheard a lady talking about how she is excited about moving to Arizona. Reason One, the weather will be nicer and warmer than Utah. Second reason, the elevation is lower so she will have an easier time breathing. I was thinking I could offer a suggestion to help her breath easier-quit smoking cigarettes. Luckily the teller helping this lady said exactly what I was thinking and did it so matter of factly. It made me smile.

Lastly. Anybody who really knows me will know that I do not enjoy wedding receptions. I don't like waiting in line and I don't like showing up by myself. I went to a reception this past Thursday. I am so glad I made the effort to go because it was by far the best reception I have been to. I was able to go with my friends so it was fun to chat and see people from High School. When the couple was ready to cut their cake, the legs one side of the table collapsed and the cake went crashing to the floor. I think somebody got it on video. I felt a little bad but the couple was able to laugh about it so I don't feel very guilty for enjoying that it happened.

Thanks Adrienne

This Past week Adrienne and her family were visiting. It was so fun to see them and I miss the kids already even thought they've only been gone for 3 days. Adrienne introduced us to 2 new games and a fabulous BBC movie while she was in Utah.

This game will definitely make you think fast and have you laughing so hard that you cry.

I never won at this game and it was stressful but it was very fun.

This movie is based on an Elizabeth Gaskell novel. I am already a fan after reading Wives and Daughters and watching the movie adaption. If you like Jane Austen you will love this. So good.
