Cooper Finds 'Bad Blood and Trouble' and 'A Star is Born'?
Variety has word that Cooper is entering talks
to lead Bad Blood and
Trouble, a new crime thriller from The
Disappearance of Alice Creed director J. Blakeson. The
official logline of the film is under wraps, but the film is set in the 1950's
and would see Cooper playing a Miami detective in love with a married woman
whose husband has been targeted by a group of criminals. But that's now all. More here.
Marvel's 'The
Avengers 2' Set to Arrive May 1st, 2015 - With Thanos?
Briefly: It has been announced
and/or confirmed by Deadline that
the official release date for Marvel'sThe Avengers 2 is now set for May 1st, 2015.
Only three years to go! Joss Whedon will
be writing and directing the sequel to this year's ensemble superhero team-up
box office smash. Pretty much exactly what we expected to see, following Iron
Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain
America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians
of the Galaxy in the
next few years leading up to this (plus maybe Ant-Man?).
Can we expect Thanos to
be the (really) big, bad villain this time around? Possibly, but like with Loki
they're never going to confirm until we're sitting in theaters at midnight. Plus other rumors have speculated who might be playing Vision in the new film. Vin Diesel, or Clark Gregg. Click here to read more.
Tom Hardy and
Michael Shannon to Journey on 'The Long Red Road'
Over
the past few years both Tom Hardy and Michael Shannon have enjoyed varied levels of success,
but both of them have had their careers rise very quickly in a short time.
Shannon has been more low key with indie films like Take
Shelter (though he
has a villainous role in Man of Steel next year) while Hardy has been more
prominent in films like The Dark Knight Rises (with lower profile turns in films
like Warrior). Now the two powerful actors are teaming
up for The Long Red Road,
an adaptation of Brett C. Leonard's stage play of the same name which Hardy
actually starred in at the Goodman Theater in
Chicago. Read on!
Ed Zwick to Direct 'Pawn Sacrifice with Maguire as Bobby Fischer
Since
the release of Love and Other Drugs, director Edward Zwick has
been linked to a couple projects like The Great Wall with
Henry Cavill and an adaptation of Vince Flynn's American Assassin.
However, we've yet to hear anything on those projects and now Zwick has a new
project looking to shoot next year. Deadline has word that Zwick is in talks to
direct Pawn Sacrifice, the life story of American chess icon
Bobby Fischer leading up to his historic world championship match against Boris
Spassky in 1972. Click here if

Play Nicole Kidman's Prince in 'Grace of Monaco' Drama
Hollywood starlet Grace Kelly entered the business at age 20, headlined half a dozen major films, earned an Academy Award, and then retired from acting at age 26 to become a princess of Monaco. That's pretty impressive, but as we've written about before, the new film Grace of Monaco will seeNicole Kidman playing Kelly and will pick up the story after all of that, when she helped guide the city-state through a difficult conflict with the French. Variety reports that Pulp Fiction star Tim Roth has joined the esteemed cast as her husband, the Prince of Monaco. And there's a role for Frank Langella as well. Jump here to read more
