Denzel Washington is 'Shovel Ready' for Futuristic Thriller Adaptation 


Right now Denzel Washington is gearing up to star in Antoine Fuqua's big screen adaptation of the80s television show The Equalizer along with Chloe Moretz and Melissa Leo. But after that, it sounds like he might head into a little more familiar territory. Deadline has word that Washington is currently in early talks to lead Shovel Ready, an adaptation of the forthcoming novel of the same name by Adam Sternbergh. With a vibe that feels like Washington's recent Book of Eli, the story is set in a near-future New York City that has been ravaged by bombs, where the population escapes from reality into a digital world. DiCaprio to Star in 'Rasputin' Movie in Development at Warner Bros


DiCaprio as Rasputin? He's ideal! It's being reported on Deadline that Warner Bros has acquired a script written by Jason Hall (Paranoia, American Sniper) for a movie about Rasputin, the Russian mystic who became an advisor to the Russian Imperial family, The Romanovs, before being brutally killed. Currently attached in the role of Rasputin is three-time Oscar nominee Leonardo DiCaprio. Apparently there was something about the ruthless Russian mystic which Hall uncovered and put into the script that intrigued DiCaprio enough to agree to the role. Man Of Steel Sequel Put On The Fast Track, Zack Snyder And David Goyer Returning


Well, it was really only a matter of time before this news crossed our desk. Even though Man of Steel isn't set to open until Friday, positive buzz and a swell of anticipation amongst movie-goers has led Warner Bros. to officially green light a sequel to the Superman film, with Zack Snyder attached to return as director and David Goyer once again working on the script. Read more here. 

Tom Hardy Set to Lead Takashi Miike's English Debut 'The Outsider'



It's no secret that Tom Hardy is one of the busiest and most sought after actors in Hollywood right now.The Dark Knight Rises star is shooting Animal Rescue right now, and he's got a more than a handful of future projects in the works. Now we can add one more to the mix as Deadline reports Hardy will leadThe Outsider, which will be the English-language debut of Japanese filmmaker Takaski Miike (Ichi the Killer, 13 Assassins). Joel Silver will produce the film that was originally set up through is deal at Warner Bros., but now the film will be independently financed for a shoot in Japan early next year. Keep Reading.

Brett Ratner's 'Hercules' with Dwayne Johnson Officially in Production


With all the geek news that's coming out of Apple's WWDC and E3, it's a slow news day in the movie world. Therefore, we just though you'd like to know that director Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, X-Men The Last Stand) is officially behind the camera again for MGM and Paramount Pictures' joint production ofHercules, starring 2013's MVP Dwayne Johnson as the titular mythical hero. Based on on Steve Moore's graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars, a press release describes the project as an ensemble-action film with revisionist take on the classic myth set in a grounded world where the supernatural does not exist.
